Murphy's Donut Cutter

This Extra Heavy - Copper Donut Cutter was created at the request of Peter Murphy of Murphy's Village Restaurant in Lubec, Maine.While having breakfast at his restaurant one Sunday morning, Peter brought out an out of round and fragile tin donut cutter to show me. I told him that AUNT HOLLY didn't offer a donut cutter at that time but I would see about comming up with something.

The resulting cutter has a 1 1/2" inner hole cutter that is positioned just slightly forward of the 3 1/4" outer cutter to assure good center cuts. The inner and outer cutters are bridged together and then a loop handle was added for ease of use. We also fabricated a custom hanger, with corner locking beads, so the cutter can be easily found in the busy kitchen.

The cutter and hanger together require over 3 feet of copper cutter stock and 26 copper rivets with 52 holes punched and more crafting time than normal. But the resulting donut cutter will hold up to heavy use for years and maby even generations.
